You roll onto hot tin and feel yourself getting smaller. Then, a little shelter. A moment to recover. Enough ice to keep going.

Sometimes the cool way
is the long way.

An ice cube shrinks on hot tin, grows back in shade, then rolls toward nimbu soda.
Hot tin takes a little more of you.
In the shade, you get yourself back.

First, a little roll toward the glass. Then a slippery stretch, a puff of steam, a ledge that won’t wait. Further along, the heat turns up.
